It's said this ever since I sent in another copy of my parent's tax forms. I kind of need to know what I have to pay before paying fees. :/

I saw my award a long time ago…then they asked for more documents and took my award away. I have resubmitted them and have had this for almost a month.

i turned everything in but my student 2008 tax… but that’s bc i didn’t file it. how long do i have to wait til they see that i don’t even need to file one? i need to accept my loans asap!

Errr… if you put in the FAFSA that you didn’t file an '08 tax return, then you should be fine. When they asked for mine/my parent’s tax returns, the disclaimer also said note: Students who did not file, do not need to submit anything.

Ummm, I don’t know, it depends on your situation. With all the tax forms I sent them, I wrote a note that told them that my parents were filing for an extension on their 2009 tax returns and wouldn’t have the documents until October. It took several emails with the OffFinAid before I learned that they don’t accept extensions; so my parents had to have their accountant rush the 2009 documents.

I think you have to submit a Dependent Verification Worksheet if you didn’t file any taxes. That is if you didn’t earn any income. That is what I did. You can get it on their finaid website.

i turned in everything (including dependent verification form) but the student 2008 tax, obviously bc i didn’t work. like i said… i was wondering if anyone is on the same boat i am… waiting for the office to see that i’m not gonna turn one in so i can view my grants/loans.

So…now they’re asking for my “Parent’s Real Estate Documents” and “Investments Mortgage Statements and Market Value”. Will they ever show me my award, if any? I don’t want it to be the week before the dues deadline and have to scurry around for loans.

They asked for my real estate documents as well. Don’t worry, they will show you the award. The sooner you turn in the requested documents, the sooner you get to see your award.

They just began awarding continuing students within the last two weeks and I got mine this week. Just be patient. Sometimes the counselors let loose the “actual date” when you talk to them. I went in last week concerned and he told me it should be released this past monday—sure enough it was.

Well, I finally got my financial aid package today after the long wait. It now includes my cal grant but the total award is about the same as before with a couple hundred more this time around.

I currently have to pay about $3,500 on ZOT by September. Does anybody know if I have to pay this amount myself first? Or will UCI pay it for me before the deadline? I’m not exactly sure how funds are suppose to be distributed. Is it…

1) Our fees on ZOT are waived with our financial aid rewards and whatever we have left over is disbursed to us when school starts.

or

2) We have to pay the fees ourselves first, and then UCI will give us our financial aid when the quarter starts.

Any help? I’ve tried to call the aid office but I just can’t reach them. If it is option 1 and they are suppose to waive off our fees before the deadline, approximately when will they do it?

Hmmm why are your fee’s more expensive? My Zot bill is $3,003 for the fall.

My guess is that the grant money + loan money will be disbursed to whichever bank account you assigned it to, or your Zot account prior to the fee deadline.

That is very strange… Well, my fall fees are $3,133. I also have to pay $309 for the rest of my housing contract (which was deferred until September). My total is $3,442 on Zot but why I have to pay a hundred more than you I have no idea.
