When did you receive your finaid letter? EA'ers, how long after the acceptance did the aid letter come? I really need to know...if it will be worth turning down money from other schools to go to Chicago.

Nevertheless, I'm so stoked.

Nevertheless, I'm so stoked.

stoked.......or toked?

I didn't know you rocked the ganj.

Slamming, yo.

In any case, according to the acceptance packetageness, the FA thing comes in a week or two....perhaps sooner

I cannot wait that long! I'm visiting the other schools this week...

I don't rock it, but California vocabulary is just strange.

you crazy cals

With early action the financial aid letter that we recieved was a conditional letter. In other words, we are still waiting (at least I am) for our finalized financial aid ... hoping that the numbers didn't change for the worse.

did the acceptance letters come by UPS or fedex? or regular mail?

Well, I got my fin aid package yesterday. But then again, I live about 20 min away from the university.

That's odd, I live inside the university (one of the class rooms, actually) and haven't gotten anything.

I think they're waiting for you to pick it up yourself. ;)

ooo ... my letter arrived!

Cool. Does that make your decision final? (Or was it already final?)

decision = finalized.

UChicago Financial aid .... UPGRADE.

I'm so nervous...my Reed finaid, which I just got, was terrible, but thankfully UChicago is my #1. If they will just actually MEET my need, then I can find a way to handle it. Does anyone have an EFC of about $17,000 who has received their package and might PM me to tell me what yours was like? It might assuage my nervousness...

umm yeah chicago gave me NOTHING. like 2000 in loans. this sucks.

I just got my letter today. They gave me $21,000, which is really surprising. Both my brothers got nothing from their colleges, and my parents weren't expecting anything from Chicago.

Kyte, is that $21000 a year or $21000 total?

Congratulations either way!

$21,000 a year. Thanks! I'm still in shock.

man, they're probably going to give me like, 10 cents. in pennies.
:(

What are you cats doing about extra loans?

Tiffany, you'd be surprised. We weren't expecting anything, and they give me $21,000. I'm in PA, so depending on where you are, you should expect something soon. As for loans: I have no idea. I know there are different types, but would anyone care to explain them all to me? Or I'll just google it.
