<p>Hello all, I was admitted to the class of 2015, and I was wondering how much $ other students received because I didn't receive much =/ although I'm an above average student. Please post what your grant was and your GPA and any outstanding achievements you had in high school</p>

<p>ok… my total cost of attendance is $44,000
my stats were: 3.3 GPA, a recruit for a varsity sport there, great EC’s, took 2 AP’s, captain of team for 2 years (getting recruited)
major: physics</p>

<p>I got $20,441 for total cost, it was basically all merit though ($30,000), which canceled out any grants they would have given me. Here are my stats so you can compare:</p>

<p>Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Spanish Club (Founder and President), Jazz Band (Lead Trumpet player), Chemistry Club (Founder and President), Tri-M (Honors Music Society), National Honors Society, Jefferson Forum (community service club), Peer Mentor Core Group (organizes school wide group), all male a capella group, school musicals every year (always getting decent parts to leads)
Job/Work Experience: Internship at a law office in summer of 2010, camp counselor, babysitting
Volunteer/Community service: 1 Summer as Camp Counselor, 4 hours every week at an animal shelter, several hours from community service club (overall hours totaling 600+ and counting)
Summer Activities: Camp Counselor, internship at a law firm, etc.
Essays: Incredible, had a tutor that helped me edit each of them and they were so “me”.
Teacher Recommendation: 3. All spectacular. Only sent 2 and they were the best.
Counselor Rec: She loves me, and said she wrote a great one.
Additional Rec: My band teacher, it was fantastic (he let me read it)
Interview: It was awful, the guy found out I was applying as a safety somehow by manipulating me and then I got all tripped up and then we really just didn’t get along. By far the worst interview I have EVER done. </p>

<p>My D got accepted yesterday and in the same envelope there was a letter
inviting her to be a “Union Scholar”. This was also with the separate fin aid letter.
D got $15M in Merit aid and Sub Direct loans</p>
