Financial Aid, Merit Scholarships in 2nd YEAR

Does WUSTL offer Financial aid or Merit Scholarships to those who did not apply before their freshmen year?

And if so, do they offer any to International Students?

Thanks,

I’m pretty sure they offer financial aid to those who do not apply their freshman year, but merit scholarships are only available freshman year, according to the wustl website.

This year we applied to financial aid late and only received a small amount. After talking to the Financial Aid department, they said if I do well my freshman year I can earn a lot more financial aid for my sophomore year.

Sorry for resurrecting a 2 month old thread but it’s better than starting a new one.

So can international students apply for financial aid the second year if they didn’t apply for it the first year? I know acolombian already answered but I just wanted to make sure does it apply for international students as well?

ya, you can definitely apply for aid whenever. the SFS office is pretty well aware that lots of new people might be needing aid the way things are going lately.

that’s really interesting what they told SChoubey though… it does seem like a lot of the financial aid is “mixed in” with merit aid… i’m not really sure how that works.

Financial aid - Yes Merit awards - generally No - as a general rule awarded to freshmen only. Although some financial aid may involve a merit component.
