Financial aid negotiation/appeal

bc is my absolute top choice but i received my financial aid package and i only received $10,000 in grants. All of my other colleges (also through need-based financial aid) have offered me $20,000+ in grants, which is why i feel bc is being sort of unfair. my family really can’t afford to pay that much tuition but i really want to go. i called my financial aid counselor at bc but he basically told me not to expect any more aid.
is there anything else i can do?

this is all really worrying me. my parents say that I will go to the college that gives me the most aid. I really want to go to BC

That’s strange. BC gave me the best financial aid out of any school. The only thing I have heard of people doing is showing proof of your other financial aid packages and if they want you they give you more. That’s if they really want you though.

“unfair” is an inappropriate word. BC may be less generous than some other colleges because it uses a different financial aid formula, but that doesn’t make it “unfair”.

^ BC’s net price calculator estimated that we would receive $25k in grants. I used the same information in the CCS profile. Our actual grant was $1600!! One thousand six hundred compared to an estimate of twenty-five thousand!!! I have a call in to them.
