Financial Aid notification?

Does anyone know when notices of financial aid will be sent out to accepted freshmen? (or maybe they already have and my son didn't get any, but I'm hoping....)

Check on his “Wolverine Access” if it is there - you need the login and password. EA applicants have received them already, not sure about RD.

Incorrect.

I was accepted EA, but have not recieved any financial aid as of yet (and yes, I am in-state). On WA, both my FAFSA and CSS were recieved on 2/20/11, and the other materials were all in by 3/10/11. I emailed them asking when I should expect to hear anything, and the office replied they they’ve just started to look at the people who turned their materials in last week, and should recieve a notification within a week or two.

I don’t know if they’ve put it up for everyone yet or not, I’m assuming not since the last poster said they didn’t get it yet, but I checked my wolverine access today and it was all up- scholarships, grants, loans, etc. Oh and I’m OOS and EA

AllTimeLowYo, if you don’t mind can you please tell if you were satisfied with your aid package. Did they cover at least 50% of your need?

^Just a word to the wise – don’t count what you see on WA’s award “summary” as final until they actually send you the email with the link and the PDF summary – sometimes you’ll look and see one piece of it but there can be more to come. So COMPLETE packages are only the PDF docs under “Official” or “Revised” award notice. Otherwise, you’ll drive yourself crazy watching it change as they work on the package ;)

Received ours for our son over a week ago. They asked for our tax return and they show receipt of it the first week of March (also in-state). Pretty happy with it… totally did not expect any grant money from UM, but they gave a little, in addition to a departmental scholarship and Regents (also loans, but we hope not to need them).

Mine shows the subsidized/unsubsidized loans/work-study, which totals less than 10K a year, but that’s probably because we’ve yet to complete me/my parents’ tax returns…so hopefully that will change. :)

I was actually incredibly satisfied - I got a lot more than I was expecting. They met more than our need. I got 2 scholarships, one for 10k and one for 15k, and then I got a grant for 11k, work study for 3k, and total loans for 6k. So basically the entire cost for tuition and room and board is covered for me, except for the loans that I’ll have to pay back, but that’s manageable.

Just got our financial aid notice. Extremely disappointed. Got 12k total (7.5k of that were loans), and I still have to cover 12k (our EFC was about 4k).

is it too late to apply for financial aid as Ea accepted student

how much money does michigan usually give in grants?
