Does anyone know when they will be sent? I believe my son's acceptance letter just said "mid March", hoping it is soon!

I’d love to know the same thing! We’d like to be able to make a decision, but will need to see where we stand first…

Letters are being stuffed and mailed as I type this.

Jared Goulding
Assistant Director of Admissions
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Thanks! Rose-Hulman is my son’s top choice, so we hope we can make it work financially. Had his acceptance since December, so it has been a long wait!

Got it in the mail. 17,000 merit scholar award; remaining 365000 on stafford loan (5500) and us. This will make it extremely hard for us to attend. I was not expecting more based on what was posted on cc prior years and FAFSA EFC of 36000, but maybe hoping for a miracle like a named scholarship award. Will weigh all other options in early April.

Here too… son will not be attending for that price. Received 17,000 merit scholar award, 5,000ish Rose Hulman grant, loans for son (5,500), and the rest in loans for us, his parents (17,000). Not happening. UM, here he comes!

My son got $7300 RHIT Grant, $14000 Merit Scholarship, $7500 Ventures Internship, $5500 loans for him, $26000 loans for us. Not looking good for us, and this is by far his first choice. I guess he will most likely take Auburn since he will have a full ride for being NMF.

I hate to see so many posts from those who will not be able to come to Rose due to finances. Truly it is a great school to be able to attend, but if I had to pay 17K a year I would not attend either. If your son/daughter is willing to consider it perhaps look into things like ROTC to pay the bills. Also Co-ops and internships are good options available to students (I as a sophmore have an internship for this summer that will pay the better part of a quarter of tuition). I don’t know each of your financial situations and I do not believe that it is worth taking 65K+ of loans to go to Rose over another top program but I would say that you will not find better profs anywhere and the little things that are free (such as printing and copying) add up.

So glad you are having a great experience. Our son is fine with how things worked out - he’ll be attending Michigan. It is in-state for us, and we are thankful to have in-state tuition. With scholarships, etc., it’s very affordable for us.

The freshman class last year and the class projected for this year will both be record size. So the value of the eduction offered by Rose must be appreciated by many.

Sad to see so many negative comments!

S is a sophomore at Rose Hulman and we were happy with the financial aid! Sure, state schools may be more affordable, but as in most things in life, you get what you pay for. Rose Hulman is completely worth the higher price!

We are still awaiting my son’s financial aid letter…have they all been sent?

We are also waiting…

My son’s arrived yesterday, in the pacific NW.

Yah $50,000 a year for me to attend, really not looking good.

We liked the school, but $35K in loans is ridiculous. Auburn is looking pretty good right now.

Ugh, I’m so disappointed. Roughly 19K in merit and grant, which is nowhere near enough for me to even consider Rose-Hulman. I had hoped to get much more, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. There goes my first choice =/

Daughter pretty much narrowed choices to Rose Hulman and another smallish engineering school. Rose offered the 17K merit scholarship and the other school offered full tuition scholarship. If Rose’s offer had brought cost of attending down to around 25K, decision would have been difficult. Now it’s easy.

(D is probable valedictorian of large urban high school and had top test scores.)

Financial aid offered doesn’t make the school any more accessible; the amount offered feels like a sick joke.

I would have rather gotten a rejection letter months ago so I could have focused on other colleges.

My daughter just got her Rose-Hulman Merit Scholar award in the mail today. We were very surprised by the generous offer…she was humbled to receive anything.

I find it odd that people ^^^ can feel so negatively about paying for a top-notch education. Rose-Hulman is a wonderful school and my daughter’s decision is quickly becoming a very difficult one. :)
