Financial Aid Offers...

I have yet to receive anything relating to financial aid, i.e. loans, grants, or whatever from FAFSA. Could the problem be that I had filled out my FAFSA on the day of the deadline (Mar 2)? When I check their website though, it says my application was already processed... anybody know what is going on???

Help appreciated, thanks!

You do not get any financial aid offers from FAFSA. The school uses the information generated by FAFSA (the EFC) to produce their financial aid offer. All federal aid money is calculated and administered through the school.

Gravyman, call the school and inquire about your aid status. It may be that something was sent to you but got lost in the mail. They may have taken your lack of response as a decision to not persue any aid. It could also be that they haven't yet gotten to your file. Either way, at least you would have peace of mind.

so was I suppose to have received something about financial aid from the schools I was accepted to?

GravyMan

Call or email the financial aid offices of the schools that have accepted you. Ask if they have received your data from FAFSA. Ask if there is anything else they need from you. Then, ask when you can expect to hear about any aid that the school might offer you.

Good luck!

yes, you only get the aid package from the college(s) to which you were accepted. FAFSA is a form, nothing more.
