<p>CPT, it depends on the form of the deposit, read it carefully. One college my D received said deposit was to get in line for housing, and nonrefundable. No statement as to binding committment by student to go there. Yes, EDs are binding and you really shouldn’t play games. But regular, the colleges are expecting that some children will put down deposits and not show up. Some children will clear wait lists elsewhere.</p>
