Received my daughters - Just loans.

Log on to your account & go to financial aid & log in there to see your report. Anyone get any scholarships?

Just reviewed mine. I received the Bunton Waller Scholarship. That’s the only scholarship. The rest are grants.

Congrats, KJSnr2009. Better grants than loans.

Just loans here too.

is this the only way to check it? will they send out a letter or something? I’m really ****ed, I’ve only got 5500 worth of loans when I’m getting ~19K/year in grants/scholarships at wpi. and i really want to go to psu. the table on the site says this is what im getting based on the fafsa so is it possible i would be getting anything based on merit?

No, the letter you receive is everything they are offering, both merit and need based.

There is a possibility that your indiv college may still ofer you something academic based, you would find out later and that would then be updated on your student aid report later.

One loan for 5500.

SWEET. no penn state for me :(

Where can I get my PSU ID Number to access to my student aid report?

I received only $5500 in loans too. Nothing else.

I most likely won’t be attending now.

Bummer…

^SmajoHurko
you can get it from your admissions letter

loans here too. i guess i’ll be going to the University of South Carolina or Clemson. I can’t justify paying 35000 a year at PSU as opposed to full rides at the other two.

Just got my package today too…was pleasantly surprised to have a decent amount of scholarship/grants in there and not have it just be loans.

ok so i’m having problems accessing my aid on the site. like i’m guessing the PSU ID is the number on my admissions letter, but what’s the password supposed to be? the same one from when i applied to psu?

I’m in a huge gap. I “dumbingly” (lol) omitted the fact that I wanted both work-study AND loans for Penn State. Now, I need about between $7,000 - $14,000, I’m guessing… - Sigh…

A vast majority of the students at Penn State, and most schools at that, graduate with debt. It is a fact of life guys, full-ride scholarships aren’t passed out all that often.

Your student loans have low interest rates that you do not pay back until after graduation. If you decide to go for grad school then you postpone the pay-back period even later until you are done.

That is correct the the student loans do not have to be paid back until you graduate. But if the loan is unsubsidized then the interest will keep accumulating (unless you pay the interest while you are in school.)

"ok so i’m having problems accessing my aid on the site. like i’m guessing the PSU ID is the number on my admissions letter, but what’s the password supposed to be? the same one from when i applied to psu? "

^^ This… does anyone know the answer?

For accessing the financial aid summary I used my MyPennState account name and that password and it worked, while the 9-digit (I think it was 9…) number on my acceptance letter did not work.

Try your MyPennState username

wow, i got absolutely nothing. besides the stafford loan. ugh, this sucks.
