<p>My D is applying to a few schools this year. This is my first experience with the whole application process so I am still learning new things everyday. I was wondering if chances of being admitted to the highly competitive schools is affected depending on whether we apply as a FA or self funded student. So when schools say that they have a need blind policy of admission, how true is that?</p>
<p>Not very according to the statistics we see here on CC. Exeter and Andover have similar %students on FA and their total FA budgets are very similar. One school is need-blind, the other is not. Go figure.</p>
