Has anyone received their financial aid package? Cost is a big factor in my decision to which school to attend. It's almost April and I have heard nothing back from them. Is it normal to be waiting this long?

Unfortunately, it may be normal, since May 1 is your final decision date.

My D is now a Wolfpack freshman, but if last year is any indication, NCSU was the LAST school to notify us of their FinAid details. My recollection is it finally appeared on her WolfPaw acct around the 2nd week of April.

I know it’s frustrating. Her 4 other schools (in-state NC, out-of-state, public and private) had given us their FinAid offers earlier, some of which were attractive. But, NCSU had become her top choice as the year progressed, so it made the wait all the more irritating.

I wish you the best!

I was told during a recent visit, the financial package would arrive around the first week of April. The financial department indicated they were behind. I also learned there were a small number of scholarships that would be issued. The typical amount would be around $1,000 with a max of $2,500. Maybe 5% of students would receive. There are also departmental scholarships for maybe 10% to 15% of the students, but these would not be decided until the end of May after the attendance decision was made.

^^Yes, many years ago (2005) my S was notified of two merit scholarships in June.
