Financial Aid Package

My child just received financial award. We are very happy with the package.

Congratulations to you and your child! I am still waiting for my decision. When did your child get the decision?

Today via email. You check Gibson.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using CC

I haven’t gotten an email, or anything about need-based financial aid on Gibson! Did anyone else get it/not get it?

Yikes I haven’t gotten anything either. Gibson still hasn’t even processed my fafsa :frowning: And my dad submitted it on Jan 2nd.

Not to worry. FA can only process so many at a time, and they will release packages as they complete them. The timing doesn’t indicate anything.

I did not receive an email but went online and checked Gibson. It said 0 so I called financial aid hoping that it was still being processed. No such luck…0 need based aid (grants, work study). D did get a scholarship so that helps.

My son got an email last week telling him to check Gibson, so it appears that they are notifying people as they get them done.

I emailed fA officer who wrote back that decision should be available today…but I checked multiple times…and nada so far…will have one kid in grad school, one freshman, and one senior in HS in the fall… so Tulane’s cost is scary even though she got merit award.

It appears that unless there is a real financial need and you have received a scholarship, that need based aid will be limited. If you did not need receive any scholarships and there is a need, you have a chance at getting the Tulane Scholarship. The Tulane Scholarship is based soley on financial need. I believe this varies in dollar amount. They base their decisions on CSS profile.

Rightofway-anything would be better than nothing…she got 20k/year in merit aid but the school will we $65k next year

Got an email from Tulane 2 days ago asking for a copy of our tax return. Have not sent it in yet, but got another email last night saying “Greetings! Your Financial Aid Award is available for viewing” with instructions to log into Gibson etc etc. Logged in last night and this morning, only to get a message that says “External Server Error, please contact your administrator”. (This only appears after successfully logging into Gibson, getting to the Financial Aid page, and then after clicking on the Awards info, terms and conditions" link or the “Award History” link. We were not expecting to get any need-based aid (fall into that middle ground where our income looks too high but we cannot afford Tulane), so I was semi-hopeful for something in addition to the merit award, to make it a little closer to our flagship COA. Has anyone else had this message when trying to access the Finaid page? Feeling like I shouldn’t stress about it because we probably didn’t get anything, yet can’t help hoping that there is a way to send DS to Tulane…frustrating not to be able to log in at all. Thanks for listening!

Hi Raincat - have you tried a different browser? If you’re using Firefox, try Safari or Internet Explorer (depending if you use a Mac or a Windows computer) or vice versa. Sometimes that helps.

On another thread people are saying Gibson is still “rebooting” or whatever.

Thanks FC and BTMell,

I will try another browser and if that doesn’t work just sit tight.

Rain cat… The same happened to me… I first saw my award… Not much but a little… Then 1/2 hour later I logged in again and then got the server error message… Tried both Firefox and safari… It’s something on their end…
I made screenshot and sent to fA office yesterday eve…

They still haven’t fixed the problem…

Raincoat… Mine got fixed a day later…you may want to call if you still have issues today.

Mine still isn’t fixed either. I’ve logged in on a few different computers because I thought it was my laptop but the same message is still coming up.

I got my financial aid package today on Gibson!
