I got an email telling me to check ISIS for mine. They are not offering me any financial aid what-so-ever. My EFC is 0! I don't understand. It says my total cost of attendance will be $16,380, yet they are not offering me any help. Is anyone else in my boat?

When did you send in your FAFSA? Im just wondering when I should be told about mine, though I dont I will get anything either.

sorta... my efc is a lot higher than urs but my cost of attendance is about 31,000. i just got a loan nd a work study.

That kind of scares me, my EFC is 0 but they have yet to finalize my aid package.

I applied in the middle of February, way before the deadline. I don't understand why they are screwing me over. =/

Also, mine doesn't say anything about Bright Futures, but I should be getting 100%....

xOverrated - are you a US citizen? If so you should qualify for at least a Pell grant with a zero EFC. You need to call and talk to them.

Financial aid woes...

-Did you submit your fasfa after march 15?
-Did you apply for bright futures yet?
-Is you SSN correct with you HS registrar?
-The person with the 31,000....you must be out of state. On-less you are NMS, NAS or the hispanic one......dont expect much
-Financial aid award are also added on after your initial report. I got 4,000 last year that I did not expect.
-Also, most likely for people with EFC 0, they are not done with your file. They would have offered at least work study. If thats not on you report then, they cant be finish adding rewards.

I did apply for Bright Futures in January and I am a US citizen, in-state. I'm wondering if calling them would help me out, or if the package is pretty final. I don't see why they would release the packages if they were not finished adding awards. It says I have $16,380 in actual financial need, yet I am not even offered a Pell grant.

Sorry I sound so rude, but these numbers are really upsetting me, especially when neither of my parents are offering any support.

Are you a new student?
If you are admitted after 3/13, probably you are not eligible for the FSEOG, Florida Student Assistance Grant, I. Douglas Turner Grant, and Federal Work-Study even you submitted your FAFSA before 3/13......
The financial aid adviser told me that they are still updating the students' financial aid package......

I would call. They do pre-release and change awards throughout the process. My pell is $2,260 but I dont remember it was on my fin aid 3 yrs ago.

Are Pell grants automatically renewed each year? Do you have to keep a certain GPA or anything?

you have to renew your FAFSA every year, and you have to maintain satisfactory academic progress in order to keep it

After all this scary stuff, I just re-checked ISIS and I have full need met. Thank god. They really did update it after first posting it. I was stressing out all day over it. I will be receiving a $4310 Pell grant and tons of other scholarships. Definitely a load off of my back.

I also got offered a work study, but I'm going to have a full time job up there anyway, so I'm planning on rejecting that offer. That will not affect anything else about my package, will it?

"That will not affect anything else about my package, will it?"

--> Nope.

how do they determine pell grants? your pell grant is way higher than mine =(
