Financial Aid Package

Hey guys,

I recently was admitted to Harvey Mudd and did not expect to get in. However, now I am seriously considering choosing Harvey Mudd, but it will depend on the financial aid. Do you guys know when the Financial Aid Packages will arrive or if they already arrived?

Thanks

yeah…id like to know that as well. I am an international student so i’d like to know how they r in general for internationals. also, has ny international received their package??

EDers got them within a week of decisions.

Mudd has clearly stated that it will arrive somewhere around the April 1st.

Do they come by snail mail or email?

snail mail

Call the finaid office if you don’t get it by mid April… I [ED2er w/ (apparently) a very unusual circumstance] should expect mine tomorrow. Work closely with them and be patient. :D

thank you…so even the internationals get the email by snail mail…that might take weeks in my case…do u think the financial aid office will disclose the information if i email them?? i guess i should try that

I called a couple days ago and they said they would mail by the end of this week. I don’t know about internationals.

It’s a lot nicer on the college forums where there’s an admissions counselor who can pop up and answer questions like this!

I called on Monday 4/5 and the woman in Admissions said they were mailed last Thursday (4/1). Has anyone received anything yet?

Thanks!

Ours arrived today(Monday 4/5) in CO.

Ours arrived Saturday in So. Cal!

Still haven’t received the aid letter from Mudd. How does Mudd compare to Cornell or MIT (or Berkeley)? Anyone else have these schools? My daughter got $35,500 grant for Cornell, the rest loans, work study, and family contribution. I am afraid that Mudd will have less of grant money and rely more on unsubsidized loans. We are still waiting for both Mudd and MIT :-Z

Also, it is clear that the Presidents Scholar finalists know who they are. If you are not a finalist is there any chance for a Provost Scholarship? Or do the President’s Scholar finalists end up half with President’s, half with Provost?

It sure would be nice to have some merit scholarships because it seems like the various components of need based aid can vary a lot year-to-year (i.e. how much is grant, how much is loan). My daughter has been offered a large merit scholarship at a school near home, but it isn’t exactly known for it’s Science & Engineering.

We know someone who got into Cornell and Mudd and the Mudd package was appreciably better (grants and merit).
