I called UNC today and was told they are working on all fin aid packages. As they complete a package they post it to that person’s portal. They expect to be done with all that were in by 3/1 by early April. She would not give me a definitive date. I guess some of us will have to wait a little longer.

I already submitted my info, got selected for verification, and sent those forms in. I am really anxious to get my package.

I say we all be patient and just wait, everyone will get their package at the right time :)

So it is normal not to have a “finances” section?

I applied for regular decision and don’t hear until tomorrow about whether or not I got accepted. And yet, I can already view my awarded financial aid. Do they post it for everyone who applied (even those who will see tomorrow that they were declined) or is that a good sign that I’ve been accepted?

Basically… Is it possible for me to get awarded a financial aid package and NOT get accepted?

Ahh that drives me crazy if a regular deadline student got their package before me( early deadline accepted student). I know admissions and finaid are different offices, but I really want to know!

Not to call you a liar but I’m skeptical that you can already see your aid. I mean the federal aid date is April first. If your aid was released, everyone else’s aid was released because they all come out at the same time. Gah redundancy, but you get my point…?

I made an onyen yesterday, and I am now able to see my aid.

Well, 3 of us have already stated that we can view our awarded financial aid. I don’t know what there is to be skeptical about? I’m looking at the listed amount for my loan right now, so I don’t understand what you’re debating?

But it honestly doesn’t really bother me if you think I’m lying or not. I wasn’t really looking for validation from others about whether or not I did receive my financial aid package. I was just looking for an answer to my question. Consider my situation a hypothetical scenario if that makes it better.

According to the campus directory, Your PID is not allowed to have a UNC ONYEN. Therefore we will not create one for you at this time. If you think this is in error, contact the ITS Help Desk at 919-962-HELP or submit a help request here: https://www.unc.edu/ar-bin/websub/index.pl.

hmm…

where is the link to connectcaroloina student center? ahhhhh

What I did:

1) Signed in here >> https://sso.unc.edu/idp/Authn/UserPassword
2) In the middle of the page, near the bottom, I selected “View Official Test Scores, Outstanding Items, and Application Status” (which takes you to the ConnectCarolina student center)
3) I have headers for “Academics”, “Finances”, “Personal Info”, and “Admissions”, in that order. Under “finances” I clicked the “View Financial Aid” link on the left.
4) That brings up a page with a table and directions that say to “click the aid year you wish to view”. Last night, it listed 2012 as an aid year but there was no link. Now, the “2012” is a link (for me, at least). Click it.
5) That brings up the package page and lists your loans with options to reduce or decline the amounts.

There may be a quicker way to get to it (I didn’t follow the email instructions exactly). But I hope that helps some people.

If you follow the e-mail instructions, it is easy to find the financial aid section of your account. In my case, it was unsubsidized loans. Uggggh…

Same here. Was anybody’s EFC crazy higher than you feel it should’ve been? Just wondering because mine was 18k higher than what college board estimated with their calculator (which was still more than we could’ve paid). I’m just glad that UNC is so affordable compared to most schools.

I don’t have a financial tab, so thinking my news won’t be great tomorrow. Betting that everyone with and aid tab is in, the rest…?

nerevsfan, to answer your question, i can’t imagine that you would be able to access your financial aid package if you weren’t accepted. There is no way that the FA office creates packages for everybody that submits an application; that would be a ridiculous waste of time. Congratulations!

However, I also wouldn’t assume the converse to be true … that if you can’t see a package you’ve been rejected. It may be that the package just hasn’t been created yet.

Are those who received the Fin Aid email ED or RD students?

I only have headers for “Personal Info” and “Admissions”. Does anyone else have this problem?

The admission is up and saw the admission ‘letter’ about 15 minutes ago. Still, I cannot find Fin Aid info anywhere.

I only have headers for Admissions and Personal Information
(I got in EA/ED whatever)
I feel like they shouldn’t send me an e-mail telling me my package is ready to be viewed when it isn’t.
