Does anyone know when BC is gonna put them online or mail them?? Also does BC need the FAFSA to give it???

Anyone??!!??

it needs fafsa

My daughter received her "conditional" Fin-Aid letter today. I checked online, which stated she still needed to submit her FAFSA, which she did 5 days ago. Her conditional awards wer:
BC Scholarship $13,400
Fed work study $ 2,200
Fed Loan $2,625

Total $18,825

The letter also explains that the total Resident cost for the 05-06 year will be $44,480. Now like most of you I dont view a loan as part of a fin-aid package, which chops it down to $16,200. That leaves a whopping $28,280 per year, including room and board. Any one else or any comments

I got the exact same award, literally the same numbers......yeah thats alot of money im gonna need to find somewhere....??? Do you know if they used your FAFSA or not my also says they still need it....but i did send it....not sure if that will help me or hurt me if they havent yet seen it....

Shawn, were you expecting better numbers? Our FAFSA stated an EFC of $21,000, so I don't know what to think about the numbers. I thought privates were more generous with the $$, since thier sticker price is so high. My D has applied elsewhere and has been offered $15,500 from another U. with their sticker price being $28,000. Although BC's Business program is lower rated, BC as a whole would be great along with being in Boston. But $16,000 difference. Times 4... Wow!

I got $6,325 ($1500 scholarship, $2,200 fed work-study and $2,625 Stafford Loan). No BC for me! :-( My family cannot afford to pay more than $10,000, though FAFSA says our EFC is something crazy like $36,000. For those who got your financial aid packages, how much did you get in each catagory and what was your EFC?

Also, does anyone know if this financial aid package took into account just the PROFILE, or both that and FAFSA?

Our EFC was $17,000 and it may dip lower as my parents realized they had made a mistake. Hopefully this helps me.....do you or anyone have any idea how "conditional" the awards are? Are the subject to positive change??

yeah ice...im trying to figure that out too......not sure if my FAFSA got there before they formulated the award...

Did all of you actually get a financial aid packet in the mail......? If so, if my FAFSA and CSS is turned in 2 days after priority ( since I had no idea of financial aid deadline!) when will I find out the amount of aid and scholarship?

not sure...i would call and ask....were you sent a pink card telling you where to go in order to insure that all your forms were in? If not go too www.bc.edu/finaidapp ...type your ssn and birth date and it will tell you what they have and what they need.

i emailed them about problems w/ my FAFSA because i've already filed one and there site still says that they haven't received mine yet. i also asked when we would expect to receive award letters. this is what they told me:

"The FAFSA haven't been downloaded into our system as of yet. This will
happen sometime in February.
The award letters (for Sept admission) will be mailed in April."

I hope this helps!

I just got sent a secong financial aid package which was better by $2000 per year....not sure why they sent it....got my first about a week agao...but more is better than less..

thanks rovee for telling us that.. i was just wondering that (and getting aggravated at the system because this isn't the first time i've been reported as having an incomplete application).
i haven't gotten a "conditional fin aid package" from bc, or any college for that matter. if the finaid awards are supposed to be sent in april, how come some applicants have received theirs already? thanks for the help, all.

Shawn, was the $2,000 difference explained? Was it scholarship, loan or work? And was this ones conditioal also? According to your FAFSA they are still way off, by about $8000 or so. I checked the mail last night and didnt find a similar letter. Our's needs to come in much better to be competitive with other schools. We hope it does. How much are your parents willing to pitch in?

sorry about delay....the $2,000 was not explained and their site still lists that they have not received my FAFSA. The 2000 was extra scholarship money from BC not government money or loans...have you received better ones from other schools????

ok, well i just received my conditional award letter in the mail today and i must say, i'm a little disappointed. anyways, the total was like $14000 something, but w/ $2000 of loans so its really around $12000. dude, financing college sucks.

i hear that...hopefully i can get some random scholarships that im applying for

I got mine saturday, and it sucks. The total is $8,000, but 2200 is workstudy, and like 3000 is loans, so basically they are only giving me 2500 that i dont have to pay back.

yeah jangel86, that does suck. how does bc stand for you (and anybody else) now that you know how much you're probably going to have to pay?
