<p>For a year. But remember the average might be accurate for only one person out of all the students, the rest getting anywhere from a lot more to a lot less.</p>

<p>And remember pretty much every college in advertising that includes loans and work study, which can be substantial. One college website I was looking at posted examples of actual student aid packages (Betty, from a family of 4 making $90,000 gets x grant, x loan, x workstudy), which was very helpful.</p>
