Could some people post their financial aid packages?

I'm a sophmore, but it went something a little like this last year:

$4,000ish Work Study-no way I could make all that though

How did you get an EFC of 0?

Uhhm, being poor.

3,500 Subsidized Stafford Loan
2000 Federal Perkins loan
2200 Work Study

I haven't gotten mine yet.

my parents had -3000 income last year according to our tax returns, but we did not get a single effing PENNY because we supposedly had too many expenses. how do they not realize that the money we spent was coming out of our savings and that we're getting poorer and poorer by the minute! my mother called them on the phone to ask what in god's name were they thinking, and they basically responded that there were people who needed it more than we did. who those people are is beyond me. even then, some people might need it more, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't get anything. thank god i got a scholarship or i wouldn't be going to college next year. i can hardly wait to transfer.

Emergency funds are available. If you contact the office of FA they will let you know what to do. Your parents will nee dto write a letter stating their financial situation as of today, and they will revise your case.

Unfortunately, that's they way every college will look at things. They feel you should use your savings to pay for college. Some people have extremely low income and no savings. Those are the people who get lots of financial aid.

if you have a lot of savings, then by all means use it for college. that's fine, but we have about 100 thousand in savings. i also have a brother who is at AU and he may not get any aid either, so my family's savings will last all of a year. that's assuming my parents don't eat. fantastic.

my parents went to the emergency funds people, and after my mother cried/screamed on the telephone for a solid hour, they FINALLY gave in and gave us a 5000 grant, a 2000 work study and 5000 loan, which is something, but how they expect us to pay for the other 80% is beyond me. i can only hope my brother will fare better...

Can anyone report their FA package for a transfer student.
