<p>Has anyone received their financial aid package from uconn?I haven't :(.When do the usually come out?</p>
<p>You have to check online for your financial award. Our is not out yet either. I am curious to see what the aid package is for OOS. Has anyone seen theirs?</p>
<p>finally just got mine!; Uconn award scholarship:12,5k,tuition remission:7k,university grant:2k,Pell:2,8k ,work/study:1.8k the rest is loans, pretty good financial aid package in my opinion!</p>
<p>P.S;i am out of state!</p>
<p>Ok wait…
is that
scholarship 12K
5k tuition remission?
7K grant
2k pell
1800 work study?</p>
<p>Whats the COA? Is there a gap?</p>
<p>I think the OOS COA is approx 37,000
If you recieved 27,000 in so called FREE money…
Your gap would be approx 10,000…5000 in loans most likely and 5000 out of pocket.
Thats not bad.</p>
<p>Our financial aid package was listed but only included unsubsidized loans. :(</p>
<p>Only loans? Are you instate?</p>

<p>js?
Do you live in CONN?
Did you have crazy high stats?
and what is a remission grant?
My son was accepted and I am waiting for my package. I honestly never thought UCONN could give us much. Maybe its not out of my range…???</p>
<p>no i don’t i live in new jersey
nope…3.91 GPA(UW) 510(CR) 570(M) 490(W) 24 ACT 28/204 Class Rank
Tuition Remission Grants are offered to eligible full-time undergraduates pursuing their first undergraduate degree.
I’m not going to lie…me either. I’m pretty excited now. I hope you get a package just as well so it won’t be out of your range. Best wishes!</p>
<p>Wow…
amazing…
I hope my sons package is as good…
I am heading to Gettysburg and Geneseo next week…
and now may have to go to UCONN…I hope…
try not to take out the unsub loan…u can cut down what u will owe…or pay the interest while ur in school.
I’ll keep ya posted!</p>
<p>^yeah its 26k in free money, its very good compared to my other offers!Good luck,i really hope everything works out!</p>
<p>Thanks HV…
I cant even sleep I am so stressed!!
I dont want my son to have to take much more than 5000 a year in loans…
we will save the loans for med school!!</p>
<p>I find this system at UConn very confusing. My son’s page only lists a bunch of loans he would qualify plus his merit. The tuition and other costs are not listed and I am trying to confirm with the UConn office that his tuition is the Regional Discounted tuition he was promised at the outset due to his major not being available in his home state. The other schools all list tuition, fees, R&B then take out the merit and fin aid leaving a net total the family has to come up with. I do not see that on the UConn site. Am I looking in the wrong place? All I see is a list of aid, but no offset of tuition and other costs.</p>
<p>Im kinda upset:</p>
<p>As of now I learned we may only be getting
Pell…5500
SEOG…2000
Student Remission…10,100</p>
<p>Perkins Loan…1600
Sub Stafford…3500
Unsub staf…2000…which means…7100 a year in loans for my son</p>
<p>The Coa is approx 38,000…with studen loans and aid…24,750…
So I am looking at a Gap of almost 13,000 a year…
I have been offered better…sad to say UCONN is most likey off the table at this point.</p>
<p>Should I respond, accepting the aid, even if I might not attend?</p>
<p>And do I need to report outside scholarships to UConn, again, even if I might not attend? If so, how and when?</p>
<p>I found UConn’s financial aid very, very generous.
I’m not sure if they made a mistake, but my total aid is 25k, while my cost of attendance is only 21k.
But about 13 of the 25 are loans, which my family doesn’t need. I’m very surprised that they were able to give me 5,000 in grants after a leadership scholarship - that is well below my family’s EFC.
Does anyone know if this happens often? (financial aid > coa)</p>
<p>25k is the coa.</p>

<p>OOS Coa is 38,000</p>
