See if you can rustle up that SAT score.

Just going to point out that getting into a school that will meet full need may not help this poster if he can pay but just doesn’t want to.

No, I don’t have SAT now. I have not taken it yet because JWU did not need it !!!

You WILL need the SAT for the vast majority of those meets full need colleges. Or the ACT. If you hope to get merit aid, you will need the SAT or ACT even if the school doesn’t otherwise require it…in most cases.

okay thanks. I will get it.

The website that you need to visit is https://www.educationusa.info/ After you read all the information there, contact the advising center closest to where you live: https://www.educationusa.info/centers.php The counselors there will be able to give you advice. They know where students from your country have been admitted, and they know if those students have received the financial aid that they needed.

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks, I already sent them a mail, and waiting for reply now; and I think they’ll reply tomorrow as now in Africa it is already 11:00 PM

ThankS a lot for the link and advice.

OP’s GPA is 3.0. He shouldn’t bother with those 6 schools. It’s very unlikely he will get merit aid from many schools.

based on 4.0 scale?

Better than that Oldfort. NONE of these colleges have merit aid awards. They only give need based awards.

This student should absolutely follow Happymom’s advice. Get some good information…and go from there. This student may actually find a college that will assist him as he sounds like he is coming from a developing country in Africa. There are some colleges that are partnering with some developing countries, for example, I believe University of Hartford is trying to set up a program with Rwanda to support students from Rwanda who would attend UHart.

I hope something works out.

I think OP doesn’t care if the awards are merit or need based

Are there local organizations to you that may be paired up with those in the USA, which might award scholarship money?

They can be there, but how to know these local organisations ???

and where to find them.

Local Governmental organizations are often greedy, they’ve got many scholarships to grand students but before giving it to you they request A LOT OF MONEY, whereas international organisations gave them to grant students for free.

I don’t trust them about that, and often people who deal with them end up with a VERY LONG STORY of ADDING money your READY to leave the country, and NEVER LEAVE…

That’s why I did find good to directly talk to the university to get scholarship instead of wasting my time with Local Organizations.

International organisations that reside in my country often believe these local people to manage these scholarships, and after giving them the management of the scholarships, everything become DIFFICULT.

About Local organisation which might award scholarship money, I don’t know.

Whether you know you can tell me !!!

What about world bank??? It’s also support student for scholarships, but I really don’t have any info.

What do you think World Bank would give you.

Be patient. Contacting the folks Happymom told you about should give you some answers.

Try to get a scholarship for studying overseas from your local organizations. It is more likely to be a waste of time to apply to those top schools and hoping to get in with full aids. Think about it. How many students around the world want to get into these schools and why should they pick you among others. Even for those getting top 1% scores in SAT/ACT would still have only 10% chance or lower to get into them.

thanks, yes I’m still waiting for the folks that user Happymom told me.

okay, I’ll try some organizations that I judge reliable.
in the meantime, if you know some of them that are located in central africa, do not hesitate to let me know please.

Hi guys, I’m back.

I talked to the guys for Education Advisor.

They suggested me to look for other colleges that offer full tuition for international students.
