Financial Aid Prior To Acceptance

Is it customary to have financial aid details appear within the Student Self Service section of MyUCF, prior to having received an acceptance/deferral/decline from UCF?

I applied to UCF in January for Fall 2009, except I have not received an answer yet. However, I noticed around March 5 an "Award Summary" for "Financial Aid Year 2009-2010" appeared. The information is listed under the following column headings:

Award Description | Category | Offered

have you gotten any awards yet?

The page used to show no data, now under “Award Summary” for “Financial Aid Year 2009-2010” the page shows:

Award Description … | Category … | Offered

Early Est. Federal Pell Grant … | Grant … | 5,350.00
Est Acad Comp Grant 1st Year … | Grant … | 0,750.00
Aid Year Totals … | 6,100.00

Note: Awards listed above are based upon current information. We reserve the right to amend or cancel your award(s) due to factors such as contingent admissions status, less than minium hours enrolled, lack of academic progress, changes needed to verification, incomplete files, additional resources, etc.

And, I am in state.

it shows up for the schools you selected on your fafsa. i dont think your acceptance status matters.

ya i think october is right. check your application status anyways but like october said I think it’s just the aid your gonna get from ur FAFSA regardless of what school you get to.

If you don’t mind me asking… After you submitted the FAFSA, when did you get those stats from UCF?

FAFSA was submitted. Then FAFSA was processed within 2 days. The updated data on MyUCF was reflected within about 3 days of FAFSA having been processed.

Ok, thank you! I’m worried about not receiving any aid besides Pegasus. If I got aid like the Pell Grant or something, that’d help. But I don’t want to put down $200 on a dorm in December and not be able to attend because of cost. (This is when I apply next, or really this year.)

Well I checked my financial aid and It is the exact same as FantomKnight’s

Award Description … | Category … | Offered

Early Est. Federal Pell Grant … | Grant … | 5,350.00
Est Acad Comp Grant 1st Year … | Grant … | 0,750.00
Aid Year Totals … | 6,100.00

Maybe its just a generic estimation of FAFSA grants posted by UCF for every student?

No way, not everyone is eligible for a Pell grant.

no not everyone is the same, but you both probably had the same EFC. Also, neither of you have BF or Pegasus so that would explain why it is the exact same. My financial aid didn’t appear until I accepted the Pegasus scholarship.

HAS Pegasus Sch 09-10 Scholarship 2,500.00
Early Est. Federal Pell Grant Grant 1,200.00
Est Acad Comp Grant 1st Year Grant 750.00
EST BF Fla Academic Sch (Fall) Scholarship 2,109.00
EST BF Fla Academic Sch (Spr) Scholarship 2,109.00
Estimated Subsidized Stafford Loan 2,564.00
Aid Year Totals 11,232.00

Of course I don’t think I’m gonna go for the student loan even though its at a good rate.

does anyone know the minimum gpas/ scores for the pegasus scholarships?

When you say about submiting our FAFSA do you mean just the FAFSA or did you send in your tax return and all the other stuff on the to do list?
