Financial Aid Problem

Sorry guyss if i send all these post even though i need to study for January SAT test but i want to spill all my concerns out to you guys. What do you guys think which financial aid is the best choice!!!!!!1

Pell grants and Subsidized Stafford loans.

Merit Scholarships are better.
The most you could get from Pell grants and Subsidized Stafford loans are $11,050; and you will have pay back the loans. Merit Scholarships could cover the entire COA.

I don’t understand your question. The federal government gives PELL for those who are in the lowest income groups. Th maximum grant amount for a zero EFC is $5550. If that can cover your cost, that’s great.

The most financial aid is given by the colleges themselves. The best scholarship you can get is what is called a “FULL RIDE”. That is when a college gives you a full ride, meaning paying for the Cost of Attendance. Very difficult to get. It can be through financial aid and/or merit monies. There is an old thread written by Momfromtexas in the archives that is titled How to get a Full Ride Scholarship. When you get a full ride, you pay very little or nothing, and may even make out monetarily.

There are only a few schools that guarantee to meet full need, and they define their own need. Not all of them give just grants either. Those full need guaranteed met schools tend to have very selective admission criteria, so getting in can be an issue. Also what they come up in terms of need may not mesh with your definiton. There are also some full ride merit scholarships available, but they, too tend to be highly selective at name brand schools and the process is very competitive with many high caliber students vying for these awards. There are also automatic awards that are listed in a section here that one can ones numbers in terms of grades and test scores, and can be pertty sure of getting if there is a match.

What many students can do, if they are not stellar iin academic profile, is look for those schools that may be willing to pay for them. These would be the hidden gems of schools, not the ones with the nams familiar to you. That is where Momfromtexas can help with her advice in the search.

To the OP, your post makes no sense. Please take the time to write a complete post with complete questions. You will get good answers if you do.
