Financial Aid Q

I'll be a second year next semester. When I filled out the FAFSA, I was planning on living in the dorms but now I'll be moving off campus with a couples of my friends. How will if affect my award if I tell them I'm moving off campus? Thanks

Total Resources to Meet My Net Costs $31,993.00

Total Resources to Meet My UC Berkeley Costs

The living costs for off-campus next year is $12,826, which is what is listed above. Therefore, you probably wouldn’t get a change in your financial aid, but you should still report the change.

If you applied for living in the dorms, shouldn’t they give you more for living in the dorms?

I was under the impression that they would give you more aid if you lived in the dorms. My question is will they deduct a lot from my aid if i told them i’ll be living off campus now?

The student budget for living off campus is less compared to living on campus, so your budget and financial aid will be reduced accordingly.
