Just a question, I’m starting up the FA application and so I was wondering if anybody had any experience?
I was raised by my grandmother, who is my legal guardian/has custody. I have lived with her for the entirety of my life and she is “Parent A” on my FA forms. I have limited contact with my mother and my father is unknown/has nothing to do with my life.
Will schools require my mother to fill out any forms? Will I have to explain the paternal situation? Thank you.
If she is legal your guardian than you should fine! Make sure you are making the deadlines for FA, those are important. The best thing you can do is to contact the school(s) to make sure they agree, much better than speculating.
Call SSS directly. I have always found them to be knowledgeable, quick and very helpful.
My daughter was in a similar situation with her bio dad. It is important to contact the financial aid offices at the schools you are applying to. We called each one before apps were due. Each was understanding and everything worked out
