Financial Aid Question

I went to college to get a degree in Computer Information System. I started attending the university in 2011 with the help of FAFSA. Let's just say I had a rough start.

(First School Year)
The FIRST semester of my college career was a MESS. I took 5 classes and dropped 3 classes with a W and failed the other 2. Of course, I felt like a failure and started talking to my self about what I really wanted in life. I gained a little motivation and went on with the rest of the school year. SECOND semester I took 4 classes that included the classes that i failed, and passed all of them.

(Second School Year)
I had to write an appeal to the school for me to continue my schooling with FAFSA. FIRST semester, I took 4 classes, and passed all of them. Before I started the second half of the school year, I was once again losing motivation. SECOND semester I took 5 classes, passed 2, failed 2, dropped 1 with a W.

(Third School Year)
Again, I had to write an appeal to the school, so I could continue with the help of FAFSA. FIRST semester, took 5 classes, passed 4, dropped 1 with a W. Then, SECOND semester started. My life went spiral, downwards, due to multiple incidents.. Took 5 classes, dropped 4 with a W, and failed 1.

So far, I've attempted 58 credits, and only completed 43, and with a GPA of 2.16. I failed my classes not because they were hard, but because I lacked motivation. I can't write another appeal because they will deny it. I need the help of FAFSA to go to school.

My question is this..
Will I be able to transfer to a different university or college, and if so, will I still be able to use FAFSA?

Yes, but fewer schools would admit you because of your low GPA.

It will depend on the SAP of the new school

You started in 2011, and have given it a go every single year . Your last term was has ended with 4 Ws and a fail. You admit that the problem is your lack of motivation. You think all of sudden you are now motivated with so little time going by?

I ask this because you are rapidly using up your federal allotments. Wasting them. You just aren’t ready right.I’ve seen this a lot and some students like you do get motivated, get working or learn to just grit their teeth and get through it. The sad thing is that when they reach that point, they need the money, and they’ve used it up.

You might want to look for some school options out there that might take you; where the possibility exists. You can then mull it over, think about it. Find a job, take a break from the academics and then try to take ONE class and do well. If you take some courses as a non matriculating student at some schools, get a direction, bring up the gpa, you’ll have a chance of getting accepted as a matricualting student. For you to continue the way you hae is really just wasting federal money and it is not an endless pot You need to get yourself together. It’s too soon, to start again, IMO You need to put some distance, time distance between your failures and your next attempt is what I think. You will run though all of your allotments and cut out so many options if you don’t take some time and plan what you are doing next. By time, another year or so.
