Financial Aid Question

Hey guys,
First of all, please do not hassle me about the FA deadline having passed, because according to the website "Applications received after the deadline will still be considered for all forms of financial aid, and will be processed as soon as possible."

Basically, my understanding is that so far I should have sent in the following:
* 2009 Cornell Freshmen Financial Aid Application
* Signed copy of parents’ 2007 federal income tax returns, including all pages, schedules, and W2 forms
* Signed copy of student's 2007 federal income tax returns, including all pages, schedules, and W2 forms
* 2009-2010 CSS PROFILE completed online

But my parents are divorced and I'm living with my mom, so for the signed copy of the tax returns, do I have both my mom and dad send theirs in? Or just my moms?
And do I simply just put it in the envelope with the Frsehmen FA App and mail it to the FA Processing Center?

Sorry about all the questions, thanks!

I just double checked the PDF of the Freshmen Application and the first page says that both the custodial and noncustodial parents mail in the 2007 returns.

But if my dad mails in his returns in an envelope, will they know that it should go with my file or should I have him include something else with his returns?

Thanks!

You might want to have your dad include a cover letter with the tax return and make sure it has your Social Security # or Applicant ID on it so that the FA office can match it with your file.

I was in the same situation a couple of days ago, and I just told my dad (the parent that I don't live with) to include a short letter with my SS# and an explanation that he was my noncustodial parent and therefore could not send his returns with the other materials sent in by my mom.

Sounds good!
Thanks for all the help!
