How is Holy Cross with Financial Aid?

Holy Cross is my number one school right now and is kind of a reach (1760, 3.5 UW :() I know I shouldv'e applied ED but I still want to see which schools would shell out the most money.

So is Holy Cross generous with need based aid as other top schools are (I'm talking about HYP caliber or other private LACs like Amherst or Swarthmore). I just want to know what to expect, lots of loans or are they generous with grants? Also do they match packages?

BTW, my EFC is around 12k.

My son got close to our EFC but it was with a workstudy and if he took a stafford loan.

They matched my EFC almost exactly. For loans, the maximum you can get is 7,800 (including work study) and they are all federal since Holy Cross doesn’t do private loans.

[Your Financial Aid Package | College of the Holy Cross](http://www.holycross.edu/admissions/financial-aid/package/)

You might have already viewed this page, but if you go through all of the sections on the side it will tell you exactly what to expect in your FA package. More than likely you would have $12k that your family has to pay plus 7,800 in Federal loans and then the rest would be grant money since they meet 100% of need. The question is more of what your family’s determined need is rather than what loans you get.

^ Wow thanks. I’m sure my parents can pay our EFC and around $8,000 in loans doesn’t seem bad at all.

Gahhhhh I’m regretting not applying ED more and more each day.
