I have a few questions about my financial aid for next year

1) when do we find out the exact amount we have to pay next year (since oasis and gateways are just an estimate), because im taking out private loans and i need to know how much to take out.

2) Do most private lenders send the money directly to usc or will they give it to me and then have me send the school a check?

3) About medical insurance, can you pay for the student health fee (which is the on campus insurance) and wave out of the USC Student Health Insurance Plan (which is for outside medical facilities)?

i don't know either of the first two, but for number 3 i'm 99% sure the answer is no unless you have health insurance already (through your parents, for example) that meets the school's guidelines for exemption. you should have gotten those guidelines in the mail, or else you can probably find them online.

i'm pretty sure this is because if you are "too sick" for the health center to take care of you, they automatically send you to a hospital (unless you are under 18, in which case they have to consult your parents) and they want to make sure you have a way to pay for any hospital bills.

for #3, your health insurance must meet certain USC requirements, or else you have to purchase USC's health insurance (eg: premium, payments, etc)

I am covered under my parents insurance (i dont know if it meets USC's guidlines but i did get the paper in the mail so ill check), but my parents want me to have the insurance for on campus, but i dont think i need the off-campus insurance.
