Because I got into the CAS, and I want to go there more than anywhere else it’s my top choice. My EFC from the FAFSA was dismally low, like 11k… so is Boston College going to be able to help me meet my need?

Will they increase my package if I show them they are where I want to be?
I didn’t receive a package yet, sometime soon I suppose.

From my experiance, BC financial aid sucks!! They are completely useless at providing anything reasonable. If you have a noncustodial parent, they'll screw you over. GEORGETOWN gave me about 16K more in scholarship. But I wish you the best of luck.

According to Ivone Foisey, BC does not offer any sort of academic/merit money that is not need based. Well, that screws me over because I'm upper middle class and I'm just wealthy enough to not receive FA, but middle class enough to go bankrupt paying 47,000 a year for BC.

Yea Fieldy that is so true. At my other schools, that did not look at my non-costudial, I recieved full or almost full tuition for a combination of merit and need. At BC I recieved $6,000 in loans. So it is pretty hard to convince my parents why I should go there instead of one of the free schools. But I don't know what to do because I really want to go to Boston College and I am just so excited I got in! But with med school coming too it does not seem like it is worth it to go to such an expensive school without the help of any scholarships!

Yeah you gotta be careful with your choice, most people don't think about the debt they take on, and pay it off for years and years. Interest rates kill ya on it. BC was my first choice too, but I probably won't go now because of the financial aid.
