Financial Aid Question?? I will be an out-of-state student (Texas), with an EFC of $13,681, SAT 2020, GPA 4.0, rank 115 out of 750 (although I think this has improved) from a good public high school. I will have taken 6 AP classes by the time I graduate. I have been a varsity cheerleader for two years and I have worked as a gymnastics coach throughout high school, as well as being involved in a couple of clubs. I would love to go to UW, I plan to major in nursing and I know the nursing school here is the best, but without a good amount of financial aid I won't be able to. Any chance at some decent financial aid?

Try scholarships. And start filling out applications ASAP. Nursing should have a lot of scholarships available. Maybe washboard.org should help you. I would also try contacting advisers from the Nursing School. But be aware that a lot of financial aid and scholarships are also need-based.

Need based federal aid is available for us citizens to those who qualify, as in any state. However, the UW itself does not offer many (if any) scholarships or aid for out of state students. There are of course scholarships out there not given by the UW (do a search online)that you can go for.
