Now that the decision letters have arrived, I was just wondering when we'll get our financial aid packets? If I didn't qualify for grants under the FAFSA, and my EFC is about 7000, is there any chances for aid from the school?

We have an EFC of $10K. Once we see the UW's FinAid package we plan to make an appointment with the FinAid office to provide evidence of "circumstances" that skewed the FAFSA math. It's also good to have a backup as well. My D got a scholarship (that also gives her in-state status) to an out-of-state school. One has to believe, or at least we hope, that UW has some leeway to make FinAid packages not totally dependent on FAFSA fuzzy math - especially one that can beat an OOS offer.

So your family already got your financial aid package? Did your daughter apply to the UW last year? During what time of the year did you receive the offers? Thanks!

I have an EFC near zero - does anyone know what kind of financial aid packages are usually offered to people with similar EFCs? Or better yet, does anyone know how much UW usually takes care of one in regards to offering aid in the forms of grants? I believe what I am asking for is the 'Common Data Sheet' (?).

UW Bothell offers a UW Undergraduate Scholarship for $3000, but UW Seattle doesn't offer anything, just loans if you don't meet the need.

My S got his Undegraduate Scholarship offer( $ 2000 a year) sometime in the middle of April, after attending the Honors Program's admitted students' day. He is in Honors at UW-Seattle. UndergradSchol is not an need-based award. UW-Seattle also offers a Mary Gates Scholarship( merit-based) .
