Financial Aid/Scholarships

well the award packages are up and it doesnt look too good for me. i got in EA, so this is my revised award, but nothing really changed money wise, just my grant went up and im two loans less. that being said, i have one grant and two loans total in my package with no scholarships, which is what i desperately need. does anybody know if they will add scholarships in later or am i pretty much stuck with what i have right now?

I got scholarships equal to half tuition and some loans, so I would imagine that’s the end of the line for finaid. You could always call the finaid office if you haven’t done so already.

same her just looked at my finacial aid package and its better than i thought it would be but still very little compared to the cost of attendance… i got an invite to “scholars day” which i thought ment a merit scholarship, but all that is listed is an alumni scholarship that is need based… i guess they considered that a merit award.

The merit package they offered was a bit underwhelming. After talking to the Admissions people during our visit and receiving offers from others schools we were expecting more. It now looks like SCU is not my son’s likely choice.

so i take it from all the responses that thats the end of the line of finaid…oh well, SCU looks out of reach now just because of money…

Sorry to hear that :frowning: I’m sure you’ve got some other great options all lined up!

I received very very little financial aid compared to other schools, only 2000 compared to 30000+ per year. I called the school and they told me they were unable to give me more money because I am not a minority and a “white male”.

my financal aid from others schools has started to come in now and its kind of disapointing that santa clara has most likely been crossed off my list because of money. i called to try and see what was up and was given the “we’re broke” and so many people applied for aid story.

wonderful…thanks Superspooky i was gonna call them up tomorrow with the same deal, but you just saved me some time…and further disappointment =(

Look Like I can cost SCU off my list if I’m looking for fairly sizable scholarships.

Hardly, most of my friends were offered full rides. You only hear about the complainers on the internet, because the people who are happy/satisfied don’t have any reason to b*tch.

They just don’t have money to give scholarships to people who don’t deserve it (apparently, the people in this post).

If you have at least a 3.5 gpa, good test scores and are legitimately interested in the school, they will pay for most of it.

How good the test scores should be for the scholarships?

Really? I’ve got a pretty good GPA, working on the standardized testing now.

My child was accepted last year with 4.0 uw GPA, with mostly honors/AP courses; 2200+ SAT; NMF; etc. She got merit aid of about half tuition.
