My D also heard back from Rose-Hulman and she got in!! She is all excited about her
first admission.

As far as aid goes, can current students answer as to what kind of aid/scholorship
is available and how easy was it to get them.

Congratulations to your daughter! She will automatically be considered for merit based aid based on the her application (test scores, grades, recommendation, etc.). For need based aid, you should fill out and submit the FAFSA as soon as you can in January. That’s all you need to do to be eligible, and you will receive your award in the mail in March. I believe the average amount of aid received is around $35,000 a year, with $10,000 of that being merit-based.

Thanks Nick123. Other than the merit aid & FAFSA is there any other way to help pay for tuition. Are there work-study programs , TA’s or any other way to earn something in RHIT?

Yes, we do have work study, which is one type of financial aid that students receive. If you are eligible for work study, you will receive a notification during the summer to go online and select a position. There are positions in pretty much every department, including the SRC, library, student union, and academic departments. There are opportunities to be a grader or TA, but generally you need to be at least a sophomore for those positions.

Thanks Nick123, that actually helped me too!

If finance works out, I’m going to Rose for sure.

Thanks Nick123. That was very helpful.

Just to be sure, if I submit SAT scores that I received post-acceptance to Rose, they will consider those in scholarship deliberations, yes?

Yes, those new scores will be considered for merit-based financial aid.
