Did anybody else get an email saying they have to verify their financial aid? Ugh, I thought I was done with this whole fafsa thing, but now UCI is demanding more documents from me.

Nope, I didn’t get an email.

I heard that they select a certain amount of people (30%?) randomly to verify their financial aid. They don’t have time to go through every single person, but they have to have some measure of making sure you don’t lie about your income and what not to receive more financial aid.

Yep, got the same email! UGH!!! Such a pain!

Got one of those last year, jumped through the hoops and came through ok.

Nope, didn’t get that. I just got an email titled “Notice Regarding UCI Application Documents” that states they want me to send all my official documents that are left for me to send in (Final HS transcript and AP scores).

Yea…how do I submit a Signed Parent Tax Return? It doesn’t specify.

You just give them pages 1& 2 second page must be signed.

Yeah, I got that!

Like…mail it to them? Or fax?

You mail it to them. If you happen to be on campus, you can take it to the FA office. Also, don’t be afraid of the check if you know you’re not doing anything illegal (small mistakes in reported numbers are no big deal; pretending you have no income, maybe that’s illegal). If you make any mistakes, they’ll just take your tax returns and update everything, they even fix the fafsa for you.

Uhhh I accidentally forgot to send my student number along with my papers. Soo should I send it again, but this time have my student number along with it? For safe measure.

I faxed mine to them and within a few hours the website said they had received it and it was under review.
