Financial Aid/Solar

Hi I have some concerns/questions, much appreciated for any help I can receive.
Currently on my SOLAR account it says:

FA Award Response 2011-2012
04/01/2011
Not Received

"Items with a status of 'NOT RECEIVED' require you to take immediate action."

I've clicked it and it instructed me to go View My Financial Aid via the main page again which I do so.

Now I'm in my View/Decline FinAid for my 2011-2012 year where it tells me what I have been offered.

Fed Pell Grant: 5,550
Is my FAFSA pretty much done? Does this mean I don't have to worry about FAFSA anymore and can just forget it till the next year?
Estimated TAP: 4,995
*Concerning TAP, I never had any response from them, I was told the state budget had not been passed so they will contact me when they do but I'm kind of worried about whether my application was processed properly.

So my concerns for financial aid is that what if I don't receive any TAP and if my FAFSA suddenly changes?

So I've accepted the grants/scholarships and ignored the offered loans, I don't want to end up in debt. My To Do List still says the same and the status still reads "Not Received". Do I have to reject the loans for this message to go away? By default it already accepted Pell Grant/TAP & I manually accepted my Presidential Scholarship, just the direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized loans left unattended to. I don't know for sure if I want them or not yet.

Last but not least should I expect anymore offers/scholarships? I have $11,545 total but:
Tuition: 4,970
Room: 6,442
Meal: 3,480 (Bronze, how do people only eat 2 meals a day anyway, assuming the weekends I go back to the city)
Fees: 1,610
(I think I have Health Insurance, in which I assume I don't need that?)
Books: 900 (How much are books for a typical Comp Sci major anyway?)
Transportation & Personal Expenses: 1,868 (Not sure how this one was calculated)

This adds up to $19,270, leaving me with $7,725 which I think I can pay off with loans working at a part time job hopefully but wouldn't mind anymore assistance.

I would suggest calling the financial aid office. I ended up with the same exact results as you lol

Wow, the meals plan are expensive at SB. My daughter’s upstate is 300 less per year and her cafs are open on the weekend. I hear SB has relatively limited food choices on the weekends on campus.

Factor in your travel costs if you’re suitcasing it…

As for books, I take the bookstore prices and ISBN’s and then compare them to several on line sites and then I pick and choose. I refuse to pay shipping and never have, even without Amazon Prime, which I also refuse to pay for. You can get used books for most classes and if you post on your school’s FB or other sites, you might be able to get a deal from someone who’s done with the books.

Check on the health insurance. If yours covers you at school, you will have to get a letter from your carrier to give to the school before they will take the cost off.
