Financial Aid & Spring Admission

Apparently Spring Admits won't hear about their financial aid package until mid-October. If you enroll in Freshmen Connection, however, you find out by April 1 like everyone else. The problem is that you can't register for FC unless you commit to the Spring. So my understanding is that if the financial aid is less than expected and you decide not to enroll in the spring, then you would lose your deposit. Has anyone else heard differently? This seems a little unfair to me in that you have to commit before you know how UMD compares to other schools' award packages.

bump…bump…anyone??

I was told when I went for the accepted students open house on the 6th that they begin mailing fin aid packets for spring admits in April.

I agree with Tbellx12.

I got admitted for the Spring semester too. Once UM-College Park has all the documents, it will begin notify admitted students on financial aids and award packages in early April.

Make sure to check your current status and financial aids status online!!

I got mine about three days ago, and they updated it today with a UM Scholarship for the spring semester worth a whopping $1950.00, though it is better than nothing. See below
