does anyone know what the past amount of finanical aid students were getting at Duke University? And the percent of students who got financial aid.

Those numbers don’t mean anything to you. Duke is a full need school for domestic students. The amounts that anyone gets depends on **their **financial situation - not yours.

You have to “demonstrate need.” Duke could be the most generous school on the planet, but if they look at your family’s income and assets and determine that you don’t need much aid or don’t need any aid, then you won’t get much or any.

As for SAT and GPA req’ts…looking at Collegeboard should give you that info. However, those stats are no guarantees for admission, since those schools reject a lot of qualified applicants.

For instance…at Duke

Test Scores Middle 50% of First-Year Students Percent Who Submitted Scores

SAT Critical Reading: 660 - 750
SAT Math: 680 - 780
SAT Writing: 660 - 760
ACT Composite: 30 - 34

The students who fall below those numbers are usually special admits…athletes, students from unusual states or countries, URMs, etc

It helps to have stats above these numbers - then you’re in the upper quartile.

Duke also has limited number of competitive scholarships that are awarded annually without consideration of need.

Unfortunately Duke does not publish their common data set. Some of the information can be found here: [U-CAN: Duke University](http://members.ucan-network.org/duke)

i needed to find out for some research im doing on both duke and johns hopkins. and ive checked their websites but neither really show the imformation.

i just really needed to find what the GPA/class rank requirements are to get into duke and hopkins.

On their websites you should be able to find the stats for the admitted class from 2009-2010 or the year before.

It’s not as easy as “finding out the GPA/class rank requirements” as these are not the only things Hopkins and Duke consider when admitting students. At most schools, there is a combination of GPA/class rank, SAT/ACT scores, essays, recommendations and “other” which could be something that particular student brings to the college community that the school needs or wants.

I don’t think you will find a GPA/class rank score that is the “one for admitted students” or even a maximum or a minimum. BUT you will see what the accepted students looked like for the previous class as a guideline…remembering that what happened in one year may be very different from another.

here are the JHU stats. See lines C9-C11
<a href=“Registrar - Homewood Schools (KSAS & WSE) | Office of the Registrar | Johns Hopkins University”>Registrar - Homewood Schools (KSAS & WSE) | Office of the Registrar | Johns Hopkins University;

You seem to think that Duke and JHU has some kind of set stats that a student needs and then is accepted.

Schools like Duke and JHU reject kids with high stats all the time.

They can’t accept all their high stats applicants.
