Financial Aid Status

Hi guys,

I was recently admitted to UW for the fall quarter. I looked at my financial aid status on the myuw site and came across a message that says "The University of Washington's Office of Student Financial Aid does not have a record of your application for the year indicated." Did anyone else get this message? I am worried that I will not receive any financial aid at all. Other incoming freshmen have already found out what they will be receiving from financial aid.

Have you submitted the FAFSA? It is a requirement to apply for UW’s financial aid. If you have applied, contact the financial aid office, it sometimes makes mistakes of missing applications or having computer errors.

You definitely need to make sure you submitted the FAFSA. About 2 weeks after you have, you should’ve received an email from the UW saying they have processed it. They are now releasing the information on how much financial aid freshman shall receive; I got this yesterday. So, if you in fact have submitted the FAFSA, and that message is still on your myUW account, you definitely need to call them. If not, you need to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible, and still call them to figure out your next step.

Yes, I submitted my FAFSA in mid January and made corrections of my tax information early February. I did not recieve any emails from UW regarding financial aid. I also listed UW as my priority school for receiving my FAFSA information. I guess I will have to call on Monday. Would I get less financial aid if they were to process my information this late?

Usually, you will not get less if they processed yours late. UW seldom provides financial aid other than those provided by the federal and state governments, so the amount of aid generally is not affected, especially the applying process for summer and autumn quarters’ aid is still not too late now.

Thanks for the information. I am not really concerned about what I get from financial aid, but I am worried about my eligibility for the husky promise.
