Ok, I don't want to make people nervous a week before the decisions, but I want to know something. Have people been contacted for missing financial aid stuff, such as 2004 tax report and business supplement? There's a loong thread on the princeton board about financial aid info only being asked of people already accepted, and if you know you're missing things but haven't been contacted about it, that means you were already rejected. I really thought that not getting contacted definitely did not mean a rejection because they just might not need the forms right now, but I don't how Columbia works; it's different from Princeton. So has anyone gotten requests for more financial info these past couple of weeks?

Yeah, but receiving an email doesn't mean anything. I sent the rest of the stuff in (2004 returns and citizenship confirm) and their tracking system now says that my FA app is complete.

cools :) .

I've already been accepted ED, and I have missing documents they haven't contacted me about. However, my dad has tried with no success to contact them about it.

suburbian - isnt that on the Harvard section that your talking about? or does Princeton have one too now...

Jono - but for ED its also way different.... for a lot of privates, they try to include a fin aid decision for you with your acceptance letter... and thats why theres often an insane hustle by universities who admitted students and are trying to get the fin-aid together before the letters go out.... not to mention that a lot of colleges only complete fin-aid for admitted students... uh oh. im going on a road of self-reassurance.. i hope i don't get rejected (by Harvard... they've been sending me crap about fa)

Well I got a likely letter from Columbia, and I sent in my financial aid stuff awhile ago and they said one of my papers was incomplete. But I only found out about this by checking out the status of my app, they never contacted me about it.

has everyone who applied for fa been asked to complete a "federal verification worksheet"? if so, why didn't they list it among the required documents in the fa application instructions?

I don't know... I found that verification thing just by going to some fa page where they have all the pdf fa files on the website a long time ago... it's not printed in the paper fa application. Maybe they only random choose some people to fill that out or if your info seems a little dubious (?)

i thought fin aid and decisions were seperate....

They are separate, but some people think that they only do finaid for accepted people so if columbia asks for some finaid information, that means you're in. . . .

fin aid and decisions are seperate. However, for me, I think it's quite unfair for the fin aid people to figure out all these numbers for some people who wasn't getting in. Seems like a big waste of time to me. Why not save that time and give more money for accepted kids eh?

a lot of ppl got a generic email from Columbia...i don't think its a big deal not to have gotten one though...u probably didnt have an incomplete FA app :p

lol. i have an overall very incomplete fin aid app... and the only college reminding me is Harvard.......
