BC wants tax returns mailed right? Isn’t that a lot of pages to mail? And why do they want them so early? My 2015 ones aren’t even here yet
You need to review the financial aid webpage for what they want, when, and how they want it sent. Every college has their own requirements.
Here is the link. Be sure to read the footnotes, too:
http://www.bc.edu/offices/stserv/financial/finaid/undergrad/applying_for_aid/prospective.html
They do want the returns mailed to:
http://www.bc.edu/offices/stserv/financial/finaid/undergrad/about_us/contact_us.html
A lot of private colleges want them early, so that they can give you a preliminary award estimate upon acceptance.
They will accept a couple of thousand kids by the end of March, and if they waited until everyone filed a tax return, they’d never get the financial aid apps processed.
The asterisk for 2015 taxes for EA applicants has the following:
*If 2015 return is not available, send the 2014 return by the deadline and the 2015 return when it is complete.
So I sent the 2014 form and schedules. I plan to have 2015 done before Feb 1 and send it in then.
