Financial Aid Suspension and Possible Transfer?

Hello all,

So, I'm looking for some clarification. I enrolled in a local community college in the spring 2013 semester working toward my degree in math. I was awarded a Pell grant, COF stipend, and student loans which went though without a problem. I enrolled in four online classes, and was just starting a full-time seasonal job. I am also in the military and was sent out of state for some unexpected training, which left me without internet for over three weeks. I ended up severely behind in my classes and was struggling to catch up. I was dropped from one class by the professor for failing to complete an assignment, but I continued to take the remaining classes in the hopes that I might be able to pass. I continued to check in on the online portal for my grades, but they were not completed by the time summer semester started. I enrolled in one summer class, was given my financial aid for the summer, and passed with no issue.

The problem started when I enrolled in my fall classes. My job had ended so I was comfortable taking two classes. I enrolled, financial aid was shown as pending on my student account. A week before classes started, I got a letter saying I failed to maintain satisfactory progress and that my financial aid would be revoked. To this day, my final grades for that semester are still not posted to the online grade portal. I filed an appeal as directed and was denied. I called the school and was informed that I needed to make a more complete appeal (apparently they said I did not address a specific class), and I completed and resubmitted my second and final appeal, which I am still waiting to hear back on. I had to drop a course because I could not afford the tuition and textbook out of my pocket, but I was assured that it would not negatively affect me. I have paid this entire semester out of my pocket as instructed by the school.

However, I am looking to transfer to a new school for the Spring 2014 semester. I have had multiple issues with the current school and am not happy at all with the communication from the school or with the web-based platform they use. Another local community college has a much more affordable, and user-friendly system and I want to transfer there. How will my previous failure to maintain SAP and financial aid suspension affect financial aid at a new school? I am passing this semester's class without issue and am confident that I will have no issues maintaining a good grade. I do not know if the current school will approve my appeal and will not for another couple of weeks, but wanted to get some feedback on my situation. Thank you!
