Financial Aid suspension appeal HELP!

The 2012 2013 academic year was my freshman year in college at SAM Houston state university in texas the fall semester i received a 0.9 GPA frankly because i was not prepared for the course load and time management requirement college was not what i expected and i struggled and that showed in my GPA. the spring semester i changed my ways and managed to pull a 3.6 for the semester and pull my cumulative GPA up to a 2.64. do to my fall GPA i was on grace for financial aid i have now met the GPA requirement and i would have met the semester hours requirement of 75% completion but i repeated a course and they do not count(which i was not aware of if i was i would have taken another class to compensate) and iam also not sure if the 75% completion is for all the hours attempted since fall or just spring semester. iam also in the process of a major change from theater to psychology (intro to psych was the course i retook a major requirement that i failed so i had to retake) so my question is do you think i will be able to successfully be able to appeal my suspension? and how should i go about my letter?
