Dear Office of Financial Aid, first and foremost I would like to thank you for taking some time to read this letter. My name is and I am writing you in hopes of regaining my financial aid for the 2013-2014 school year. After a very successful first year at Jacksonville State I went into my sophomore year in anticipation of adding to my accomplishments. During the second semester of my second year, my grandmother came down with a severe illness and I decided to put my education on hold to help take care of her. At the time I was in a great deal of pain and fear for my my grandmothers life however I lay all the blame on myself as I made a choice to leave and not attend my classes. Over the past year I was forced to mature and reevaluate my future. If given the opportunity to regain my financial aid I plan to utilize all the resources JSU provides to aid in my education such as the tuturing center and math lab. I have enclosed a two year academic plan signed by my advisor that maps out all the courses I plan to take and the year I plan to graduate. Please allow me the opportunity to prove that I am willing to do whatever it takes to further my education and prove that I am worth being given a second chance. I would again like to thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely,
