There is a new "Official" award notice for my D today that replaced the previous "Estimated" one. Although there is no change in data since the FAFSA submission in early February, there is now additional grant money (from 2 sources) in the package that replaced the subsidized loan and work study. It seems they do not put those grants in until they received the requested documents for verification (1040 and W2) although the FAFSA has already been updated with DRT a month before the estimated award notice. I wonder if anyone see the same thing.
Now the internal scholarships replaced all the loans and work study instead of grant. If this FA package was offered to us originally, it would make the decision much easier. Anyway, I am glad to see that change.

That’s great news billcsho. Nothing beats a good grant! Congratulations to your daughter. Thanks for sharing. I am sure this recent development reinforces your faith in your decision to send her to Michigan.

Congratulations! I 'm happy for ou and your DD. We’ll be looking there this next year. It’s a top school on my son’s list.

Thanks. We were disappointed originally as the scholarships only saved us 1/3 of their value when the grant disappeared in the FA package. Now we do see the full value of the scholarship on top of the grant. I still don’t understand why they handle it this way. Anyway, hopefully this thread may let future in state student know the internal scholarship and grant may be stackable.
