So I just sent my financial aid verification forms/documents... is there a way to confirm that UCSD's financial aid office received them? Like do they update my Tritonlink or email me once they get the documents? I want to make sure that the financial aid office received everything on time so I can get financial aid...

a lesson for the future: use delivery confirmation on EVERYTHING you send out.

Just follow these directions to get to the fin. aid status website (it tells you if they have received your documents or not). It's really hard to get to, however. They really need to redesign that sign and make it more user-friendly.
1)Go to https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentService/mytritonlink and log in.
2) Press on More Tools... (on the left column)
3) Scroll down until you see Financial tools (in Bold)
4) Press on Financial Aid
5) Press select on 2008-2009
6)And there you should see a checklist under Mandatory Tasks!

^ Thanks! I agree, the site is really not user-friendly - they really should make this FA stuff easier to access.

And I actually faxed the forms to them (form said I could mail or fax), since I wasn't sure if they'd get it in time if I mailed it... I just wanted to make sure that they received everything since there were a lot of pages.

lol, I put "sign" instead of "site." My bad.

also, it often takes 3-5 days for them to update if they have your papers or not..i was in their office today for summer finAid and that was the concern of many students waiting to be helped, they had turned in their papers but the site wasnt updated yet, so they thought FA didnt receive them

So as long as the documents are postmarked before May 1, everything is cool, right?

should be...although, as jphina said you could always fax it, so if you havent mailed it yet i would suggest doing that

Hey guys. I have a question of this also.

I have to turn in the dependent students verification worksheet along with copies of my and my parents' income tax returns and W-2 forms.

I did not realize that the deadline to turn in the verification forms is so early! It's 2 days away. I can just fax ALL of these forms to the school, right?

Also, do you have to enroll in/apply for the direct deposit account?

You could fax it, I think. Call UCSD and make sure. And you don't have to enroll in direct deposit, although it is recommended.

I sent gave my mail to the postoffice on saturday morning, so it probably left later that night. thus, UCSD should of recieved my mail already, cause I live in LA, and it takes 2 days to get over there. But they havent updated it yet? Its been 5 days since it left. Did they not recieve it, or did they just not update it yet? How long does it take to update it??

So I got the cal grant award notification. How do I tell the school about it?
