Financial Aid Waitlist

I am on a FA Waitlist at one of the schools I applied to, what are the chances of getting off the FA Waitlist? And how much FA will they give me? Because my situation requires full aid. Will they tell me if I got off the Waitlist before or after April 10th? I have another school that gave me full aid

Can you tell us which school?

Hun School of Princeton

Your best bet, IMO, is to go to the school with full aid. Getting full aid from a FA waitlist is rare…:D

Is there a chance that I might get FA from Hun? I like the boarding experience

I think your option is to 1) let the school know that you really want to attend but that you need aid, and ask their option about the chances 2) wait out the waiting period and see if aid opens up, and 3) if aid does not open up, then be very very thankful of the aid you received and say “yes” to the day school. You can always apply for boarding also.

Lastly, go to [Boarding School Review - College-Prep & Jr. Boarding Schools](http://www.boardingschoolreview.com) and research the Hun School. The school may not be so well endowed to be able to give you full FA. I think schools try to give partial aid to more people, rather then full aid to a few.

Thank you so much, I will try to consider your options.

Anyone else have any new input?

HADES98 - my advice to you: “Love The School That Loves You”

In a previous post, you shared that you received a full-ride scholarship (EVERYTHING included - tuition, books, fees, etc) except for a small amount to be paid by your family at another school (a private day school).

This is truly a rare and wonderful gift. The school sees something of great value in you, and wants you to be a part of their community very much. Embrace it - celebrate it - appreciate it!

It may not be your first choice school, but ask yourself - if you had received a flat-out denial at the boarding school that has you on the FA Waitlist, would you be thrilled to say “yes” to the school offering you a full scholarship?

Good advice mountainhiker, I will see what happens next.

Any other suggestions?

Did you find out about any other schools?

Got in Peddie with half FA

rejected at andover and lawrenceville. :(

You still did fabulously…did you hear from Peddie?

Yea, got 1/2 FA from Peddie

Yay! I’m so happy you got in  But you got full FA from PDS…tough decision. But you live closer to Peddie?

Closer to Peddie, yes. I have also heard remarks about Peddie being racist? In addition, many students implied that Peddie is more arts and music oriented than academics oriented. I understand that they have good sports teams as well. Hmmm tough decision indeed.
