I am planning on sending in an application for Wake Forest next year. The problem is I would definately not be able to shell out 40k a year for college (especially since I have to other brothers who are younger). My family makes a total of about 100k a year with 3 kids and 2 parents. Roughly how much financial aid could one expect to receive based on need for Wake?
Thanks!

It's too complicated for anyone to give you a good guess, but based off of what I received, I would estimate 10-15k in grants, with a good amount of loans.

Maybe call up fin aid or come down and meet with them to get an idea.

craigory05- were you top of the class?- I would just be squeaking in stat-wise, so I don't expect merit aid-Thanks

My estimate for you is mostly based off of financial aid, not merit.

I got merit, and my stats weren't as good as yall's. Maybe it was really need, but it still says merit. Hmmm...

emsibdn,
are your stats above the middle 50%? I would like to encourage my son to apply to Wake, but I am nervous not only about getting in, but also if he "just" gets in, will they expect full price? If so, we cannot affored it, he has two brothers right behind him! I am happy it worked out for you!

Not really. SATs are bottom 25 %ile, took 6 APs, 3.5 GPA, 4.5 or so QGPA. According to my statement I have, per semester, $5,500 in "merit" aid. That's a third of my semester aid and expenses. But like I said, I'm not completely sure it's really merit, because my roommate had somewhat better stats, but I'm pretty sure he didn't get any merit. So I don't really know.
