So I got a Work Study offer today with my other Fin Aid. I was wondering if anyone ever heard of a case where a student wasn't able to find a job or if everyone who was offered this work study is assured one of the allotted jobs?

Hey,

I found this on the financial aid website:

"Is a FWSP job hard to get?

No! If you receive FWS you are guaranteed a job. If you have trouble locating a job after reviewing the online job listing, contact the Office of Financial Aid and we will assist you in finding an open position."

I got a work study as well, so this is good news for us!

could a student get a job on campus even wihtout work study?

^ I hope so. I had an EFC of 0 (single parent home with 2 children), and I didn’t get one =/

do you guys think it’s too late to sign up for a work study? how do these things work??? do you think it’s a good idea to participate in a work study or just find a normal job?

From what I’ve read, they’re supposed to offer them to you. However, I haven’t had any of my friends receive a work-study offering. I’m beginning to wonder if they just haven’t added that to any of the freshmen’s aid packages.

I’m a freshman – I got my work study when the package came thursday.

On your FAFSA there’s this question asking if you are interested in work-study. I think they probably offer school jobs to work-study students first and then other students first.

Tina92, call financial aid like pronto and see. I’ve already sent out emails to like everyone on the employee list and have scheduled tentative interviews. So things are definitely limited.
