Financial Aid

yeah. I can understand why the increase in applying families might delay them but April 15 is incredibly late. Elon is my top choice but unfortunately our EFC was twice a’s much a’s what we can actually pay and 15 days isn’t a lot of time to try and scrape that extra money together if need be. Has anyone gotten what they believe to be their full package yet?

Has anyone received their financial aid packages at all? I wonder if Elon is the last school to send out financial aid decisions? My D applied to 13 schools and she has received the package from all with the exception of Elon. Well she was only accepted at 12, but she has received the other 12 about 3 weeks ago, so this is extremely late. If Elon wasn’t her top choice I think we would have made the decision to go elsewhere by now.

same here-all other schools were back weeks ago

On Track has some info now-but where is the actual FA letter?

they’re sending them out after they put it onTrack. what do you mean by some info though? i still got nothing :(

I haven’t heard anything either! This is so frustrating…

So, has anyone heard any updates? I believe this thread had noted that it would be out by 4/15. Can the rest of us expect FA award packages by tomorrow?

I got my financial aid info in the mail today.

@superhuman: That’s interesting; is your information up on OnTrack? When I had called a week ago, they had said it would appear online before you’d receive your info in the mail.

Please post if/when your OnTrack is updated…

Was it worth the wait?

calling the school seems to help. i’ve heard of at least two people who have gotten their packages over the phone before finally getting them onTrack/in the mail. yesterday i called and was informed that they wanted additional documents and were going to mail them to me (why they didn’t email/call me directly when they realized they wanted more info and have me fax it to them so i could get my package sooner is beyond me). the woan i worked with was very nice though and we faxed the documents last night and she apparently will call me directly as soon as it’s finished.

^ *woman (not woan)

@NextChapter

it seems like they’re getting them together but at the rate it’s been going i wouldn’t hold your breath. yesterday when i called i was initially informed that they were “working towards that May 1 deadline” which i took to mean as they won’t all be out today.

Wonder what happened to Elon being the school that runs like butter?

^ Yes, this is unusual, at least in our experience with them this year. The first bump - unfortunately on a very crucial issue for us. Not seeing anything on ontrak today so hoping for something later or in the mail at home.

sigh still nothing.

My ontrack was updated in the middle of the day, so I would check periodically over the next few days. Like I said earlier, my ontrack was updated a week before I recieved the package in the mail.

I called yesterday, early in the morning and asked for a status update. They told me that it was with the director of financial planning and would be updated soon. It wasn’t updated by late afternoon, so I called back. The young lady gave me the information verbally.

Pretty good package…now time for a family meeting. We will see!! :)

Looks like S will have to call today when he gets home from school as On Track is still showing nothing. Quite frustrating as this is make or break information.

Got my financial package via the phone just a bit ago. It much more than I anticipated and I’m happy to say that I will be part of the class of 2015 (:
